Hong Kong - IFACT-GC Training Seminar for New IPR Ambassadors

On November 1, Sam Ho and Matthew Lee of IFACT-GC conducted a training seminar on presentation skills and basic IPR knowledge for 35 IPR Ambassadors before the annual IPR Ambassadors’ Creative Camp. The seminar was designed to prepare the Ambassadors to help raise public awareness of the importance of IPR protection.

In addition to introducing the basic skills of preparing and delivering presentations, the seminar highlighted the importance of protecting IPR with emphasis on the risks that Internet users face by exposing their computers to harmful viruses, worms, and Trojan horses when filesharing. The dangers were highlighted in a discussion of a number of recent Hong Kong cases where government officials had inadvertently released confidential data when using Foxy, a Chinese interface filesharing program.

The interactive seminar was well received by the Ambassadors.

The Ambassadors’ Creative Camp was held on 1st and 2nd November at the Sai Kung Outdoor Recreation Centre. The Camp, sponsored by IFACT-GC, is a team building activity held annually to integrate new Ambassadors into the Scheme and stimulate their creativity.
