On March 12, the IFACT-GC organized a visit to Jade Dynasty Publications Limited (Jade Dynasty) for 13 Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education (IVE) IPR Ambassadors. Jade Dynasty, established in August 1993, is the leading comic and animation producer and publisher in Hong Kong. Mr. Wong Yuk Long, the creator of Jade Dynasty, has long been in the forefront of nurturing and supporting the growth of the local comics and animation industry.
Mr. Pang Yat Hang, Jade Dynasty’s Comics Department Production Supervisor, gave the Ambassadors a guided tour around the company, providing a good overview of how comics are created and giving his personal experience on how piracy affects their creative work.
13 Ambassadors aged between 18 and 20 attended the event, all year one and two students studying various courses at the IVE’s campuses in Shatin, Kwai Chung and Kwun Tong.
The IPR Ambassadors program is organized by the IFACT-GC and the Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education and was officially launched in May 2007. The programme includes IPR-related seminars, visits and other activities designed to inform the IPR Ambassadors on the importance of IPR protection.
