Piracy works at many levels, ranging from well-organized syndicates to people who think it is okay to burn copies of DVDs and distribute them to friends. You can help stop the spread of piracy by being aware of its impact and illegality, and by realizing this is not a harmless activity.
So if you have a friend who offers you a burnt copy of a film or a TV series, tell them it's wrong and why. Tell your children not to accept pirate copies in the school yard. Tell your friends not to give pirate copies out as presents. If you know of a colleague at work who is downloading films and TV series and distributing copies and files, tell him or her it's illegal.
